The sunken and cracked concrete around your Washington County home is both an eyesore and a safety hazard. It is also likely to get worse, but we can fix it for you.
We use slab jacking or mudjacking for smaller jobs such as leveling sidewalks, patios, driveways, and pool decks. Precise holes are drilled into your slab. Then a specialized mortar-like grout or "mud" is pumped, under pressure, to raise and level your slab. The holes are filled with concrete and troweled smooth. Most jobs can be completed in one day. For larger jobs we use slab piers. These can be used to correct large sections of concrete such as warehouse slabs. Call us today to learn more.
Jess W. of Johnson, TN knew her crawl space was in trouble. Upon entering she could clearly see that nothing was where it should be. The ceiling was detached from the walls and drooping, and there were large cracks in seemingly sporadic places. A friend of Jess’s had mentioned Master Dry Foundation and Waterproofing Specialists recently, so she decided to give them a call and see what could be done for her crawl space. She set up an appointment with crawl space expert Steve Price, who inspected the space and devised a plan. Jess agreed and let Steve know her availability to have the work done.
Foreman Josh Sulfridge was chosen to lead a team on Jess’s repairs. They installed SmartJack crawl space supports to fix the sagging ceiling beam. But the space needed additional help because of the weakened state of the structure. Therefore, the team added more support beams and sister joists to hold up the ceiling and the floor above. The three of these products together did the trick!
Jess is relieved that the ceiling of the crawl space was in the right place again. She can trust that area to be as strong as the rest of the structure. Thanks to Master Dry, Jess’s home is safe once more!
John M. worked hard to finish the basement of his Johnson City, TN home. But his family was uncomfortable in the space. Humidity in the air meant that no one even wanted to be in the basement. But John was also concerned that the moisture could cause mold and structural damage if not taken care of. He searched the Internet for basement repair experts in his area and came across the Master Dry Foundation and Waterproofing Specialists website. After reading through some of the pages and familiarizing himself with their products and services, John filled out a form for a free estimate. Expert Steve Price arrived for the inspection.
Basement waterproofing expert Steve Price came out to inspect John’s basement and determined right away that the basement was in need of a dehumidifier. Since John’s basement was finished, he did not want anything obtrusive or unsightly in the space. Fortunately Steve knew just the solution. Steve recommended installing a SaniDry XP commercial-grade dehumidifier in the unfinished area of the basement. SaniDry upper and lower ducts would connect the system to the finished room, filtering air through the vents in the floor and ceiling. Foreman Curtis Ward and his team installed the system exactly to the specifications.
Thanks to Steve, Curtis and the whole team at Master Dry, John and his family can get complete enjoyment out of their game room in their dry, comfortable finished basement.
The crawl space beneath Paul H.’s Johnson City, TN home was cramped, dark and difficult to access. But looking into the door one day revealed a pool of water on the black plastic that had previously been installed in the crawl space. Because Paul already knew that water presence was an issue in the space, its reappearance convinced him to contact a specialist to fix the problem once and for all. Paul had heard of Master Dry Foundation and Waterproofing Specialists before and decided to give them a try this time around. He called to schedule an appointment and Master Dry sent out waterproofing expert Steve Price to conduct an inspection of the crawl space and provide Paul with a free estimate for repair.
Steve was able to get under the house to assess the damage. A SmartSump sump pump and SaniDry CX dehumidifier would remove the water and dehumidify the air, eliminating the excess moisture. A CleanSpace liner would help protect the interior. Finally, an EverLast crawl space door and vent covers completed the encapsulation by stopping the outside weather from getting in.
The dampness in Paul’s crawl space could easily have caused mold and rot, debilitating his home’s stability. Fortunately, his decision to contact Master Dry was the best he could have made.
Howard W. has experienced serious issues with moisture coming in through the walls of his Shady Valley, TN home. He had attempted to solve the problem on his own by adding a dehumidifier and extra insulation, but the problem just seemed to be getting worse. So, he finally gave Master Dry a call to find out what they could do for him.
Sales representative Frank Yelencich visited the home soon after receiving Howard's call to conduct an inspection and determine the best course of action for dealing with the issues that were found. Soon after the inspection, work was begun on the home by foreman Cory Blalock and his crew. They installed black plastic on the floor of the crawlspace as a vapor barrier and a SaniDry CX dehumidifier and Condensate Pump to remove moisture from the space.
On completion of the job, Howard was extremely pleased with the work and was excited to go forward knowing that his house was no longer being damaged by moisture.
Bob, a Limestone native, was ready for a change for his 114-year-old farmhouse. After years and years of wear and tear, the home had accumulated an immense amount of moisture and developed a musty smell.
Bob called Master Dry for a free inspection, which was led by Rusty Miller. Rusty determined what needed to be done to Bob’s crawlspace, considering the age of the home and Bob’s budget. The team continued with project, led by Nick Crozier, and installed a Clean Space Liner and Clean Space Vent Cover to seal the crawlspace and make it a cleaner, more pleasant space. Master Dry recommends that crawl spaces should be encapsulated (sealed) as well as properly insulated to prevent further mold and moisture damage. They removed the current insulation and replaced it with high-quality, R19 insulation, which will not absorb moisture and will help Bob save on his energy bills. The team then sprayed for mold.
Bob was impressed by the thorough work Master Dry completed for his home. He was happy he could relax and enjoy his home, which now was void of mold and a musty smell.
Tim from Telford, Tennessee was having foundation issues and was worried that the bowed wall in his basement would eventually collapse and wreck havoc on his home. He decided to give Master Dry a call as a precautionary measure to prevent future damage. Sales representative, Steve Price, determined that Tim’s basement needed a power brace to stabilize and resolve his bowed wall.
Master Dry then installed an 8’ steel power brace to reverse the hazardous effects of protruding walls and reinforce the wall. Other brace systems rely on the soil for their stability, which is not the most effective method since soil constantly shifts and is greatly impacted by the weather. Rather, the power brace utilizes the concrete for a source of stability. Tim’s wall was now pressure-resistant and he was happy to know that Master Dry followed up to ensure the power braces were perfectly tight.
